the Church commemorates the Dormition of the Theotokos. The Holy Mountain, the realm of the Mother of God, celebrates this feast with special joy.
As we sing in the Troparia of the feast, the Mother of God does not forsake our world. She still hears the prayers of those who appeal to Her in faith. Here are examples of the Holy Virgin's intercession for different people, as narrated by the ascetics of Mount Athos.

Having been in Protestantism for the past 45 years and now inquiring into Orthodoxy I can tell you we are missing 1) Confession, 2) A regular participation in the Eucharist and the proper understanding of it, and 3) A spiritual father for accountability and counsel

Yesterday, I purchased a number of different Items with icons of the various Saints, our Holy Mother the Virgin Mary and our Lord Jesus Christ. One of the items was a keychain of Saint Marina... who I was unfamiliar with because I am still learning who all of the Saints are. Another item was a necklace that I thought was The Holy Mother Mary... but when I looked up the first Icon and learned about Saint Marina and what she went through... I realized the other Icon I thought was the Holy Mother was in fact Saint Marina... This brought tears to my eyes because I feel God and Saint Marina are communicating to me to stay strong in my faith. I now am happy to have another Saint to intercede my prayers for me! Jesus Christ is Risen! Indeed he is Risen! Hallelujah! Glory to God! In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit! Amen! 💜🕊️☦️
